Hi there, I am brand fine new to DotNetNuke, but I hope to become a long term developer and eventually put back in for all of the questions I am probably going to be asking over the next few weeks.

I am also a good forum user and search before I ask, so this question comes from not getting answers from a mornings searching. Please forgive me if there is a thread that I have missed that already answers this.

Anyway I am trying to source the correct modules to start me off for a web system I am writing.

It consists of 4 portals each stemming from a similar template and each contains a store.

My issue is that I need to have products that belong to multiple portals.

From research I have found that some packages such as Classified Pro or Catalook suggests that products can belong to more than one category, and other modules suggest sharing a database across portals but I think that is more meant for user logins.

Does anyone know about sharing store products across portals?

More specifically does anyone know if the shared products can belong to different categories across the portals? For instance:

Lets say one portal is food shopping, another is organic shopping, and another is shoes and I have a product which is a carrot.

So in food shopping it would appear in the category – Vegetables,  in organic shopping it may appear in the category - Roots, and in shoes it wouldn’t appear at all.

The important thing is one admin can then change the price for the carrot and it sets across both sites that it is visible on?

Again I am sorry if I have missed an easy answer on this one and I would be most grateful if someone can kick me off on the road to solving my module choices to start this one off?

Cheers,

alt.

In your own custom modules, if you don't relate your data to a module instance or portal, it may be used from any instance of a module across the while DNN installation.
