Hello All,

I have successfully installed DotNetNuke into my domain directory Root/1mshop.com but I have some problem with the URL. I can access my site at www.1mshop.com but whenever I click on a page, the link shows up with my domain directory added into the url.

For example, www.1mshop.com/home.aspx will turns up www.1mshop.com/1mshop.com/home.aspx

How I can fix this problem?

Thanks!!

Regards,
JeeShen Lee

I think it must be a problem with friendly URL. Did you configure this site with another server using a virtual directory ?
AFAIK DotNetNuke will save rewrites URL in database and won't update them automatically. I don't know more because I use my own friendly URL Provider.
Try to edit settings for one page and click on Save to generate new rewrite URL.
I hope that helps.

It's likely you have created two different Portal Alias entries for this portal.  One with the root value, one with the root + install path.  You may need to look at your IIS settings and make sure only the actual folder is setup for the correct domain (ie, the domain host header is only for the correct root folder).

You can check your portal alias entries by looking at your 'site settings' page.

To answer the previous comment, DotNetNuke does not save UrlRewrites into the database.  All Url Rewriting is operated dynamically using Regex patterns and/or lookups on the page name.  The only thing saved in the database is the page path (ie /pageone/pagetwo) which is in the tabs table.  But this is not specific to Url Rewriting, it is part of the Tab information and used for more than just the rewriting.  Page level information does not modify the portal alias level, which I suspect is the issue here.

Hello Stéphane,

"Did you configure this site with another server using a virtual directory ?" - No, I hosted it on Windows Shared Hosting with Unlimited Domains (1mshop.com is one the domain hosted in this account).

I found this on my Site Setting:
Portal Alias:

SiteSetting.png

Is this possibly the root cause? I can't edit the value for www.1mshop.com/1mshop.com, it looks like a default value.

Please advice. Thanks in advance.

Hello Bruce,

Yes, I have checked; only one domain (1mshop.com) is pointing to the directory (/1mshop.com). Now, how do i remove the portal alias (www.1mshop.com/1mshop.com)? There is no edit/remove button available in my Site Setting page.

Thanks for helping, I have some idea what went wrong now.

Regards,
Jeeshen Lee
