Hi,

Thanks Bruce for your answer which correct my suggestions.
I suppose you can't remove the bad alias because you currently use it. I propose you to go to "Portal Settings" menu, remove "/1mshop.com" from current URL in order to use the other portal alias and launch navigation with specified URL. Then, you should be able to remove the first portal alias which may cause your problem.

Is this in 5.6?

5.6 introduces a new feature which automatically adds a portal alias if you 'hit' the site from a domain which isn't already in the list of portal aliases.  This is designed to stop many issues that arise from returning 404 errors when a domain/alias mismatch has been introduced by changing domains/migration of sites from dev to live, etc.

It's possible that this is how you caused the issue in the first place.

In terms of fixing the aliases, you can always edit the records in the database directly (in the portalAlias table).  The first alias is always locked so you can't remove all the alias entries.  But there's nothing to stop you removing one of them directly in the database, as long as you're careful.  You'll also have to restart the site by touching the web.config to make sure all the cache items are cleared - you don't want the site to still think the 'missing' alias is still valid.

Thanks Stéphane and Bruce for pointing out the problem with my portal alias setup!

I attempted to to modified the portal alias in the database but failed miserably, I probably missed how to "touch-up" the web.config file. This is what happened, I modified the PortalAliasID 1 from www.1mshop.com/1mshop.com to www.1mshop.com. Then, I deleted record PortalAliasID 4. Then, hit the refresh button on my browser and I reach the dotnetnuke error page. Below is the print screen of my PortalAlias table.

I have restored my database and it gets back to the original state now. But, what did I miss? What changes are needed in the web.config file?

I know i'm asking too much, but please help. Appreciate it!

Thanks.
