What do you think of adding the capability to DNN4 that could allow a portal admin to enable select users to crate and edit their own single web page?  This feather would be nice in a school website to allow each teachers to make classroom pages and only their login account can edit that page.  Even businesses that use it could allow select users such as department heads to edit their own departments page with only their login, but not have access to the whole site.

Wow!  I'd second that idea and wish I was good enough at this to help with it.  It sounds like 1 field in the dnn_Users table for that user's personal page tabId (set it to -1 if they are not allowed to create a page) and then one "Create" button on the user account page might do it.  That's assuming that each user just gets a default page with only the 3 panes.  I'm sure there is more involved in making them the host for that single page but since I don't understand it all, it sounds simple.

I really hope that we get positive support for something like this.  It would be my top reason to use this portal for the school district if this could be done.  And yes, in my limited Dot Net programming, it seems like a mod that would not take too much work to implement.

Then again, the core team might have a reason to not implement something like this.

It just seems like mod would make DNN into the perfect school district web portal.

Does this option look like something that could be considered for a future version?

This module has existed for some time, but it is not in the core - see the Smart-Thinker HomePage
