I got this once with the Host Settings page.  It was because I had manually changed a portal setting within the Install Template.  The setting I specified was unknown, causing the error.  However, I was not able to even view the page and it was Host Settings - not Site, so this is probaby not the same issue you are experiencing.  Though, I thought that it was worth mentioning.

The fix was to manually change the setting in the HostSettings database table and then recycle the Application Pool (or wait for the application cache to be renewed).

I just had this error this week with a new 4.3.5 site I was setting up.  I did find some info indicating that sometimes it could be caused by a bad skin.  This wasn't the case for me.  I decided rather than spend time messing around to simply wipe the database and redo the install.  The issue went away.

Hello guys,

I checked your advices. I took a blanc installation of DNN 4.3.5 and compared the enteries in the Portals table between the fresh installation and my upgraded one. I did some litle changes, but it did not help.

Thanks for any further andvice!

Regards,
Fabian
