I am wondering...

Why do I get a Windows login prompt when I try to load my Internet based DNN site?

It happens only when using my company PC (part of a Domain) and only when opening DNN sites version newer that 3.2.2 I think !?!!

When opening same site from my Home PC (standalone, part of a workgroup), I am NOT prompted !?!!

Is there a new feature cousing this login prompt when client is part of a Domain? How can I disable this on my DNN site?

I really hope someone has the knowledge to help me...

Kind regards,

Leon

Where are you hosting the DNN Web site?

If you are hosting this yourself, then you might have some IIS settings out of wack.

Please tell us what environment you have this dnn set-up in.

I don't think this is specific to DNN as I have a non-DNN site that does the exact same thing as you desribe when accessed from within my company lan, although only some of the time.  I suspect it is some permissions thing, but I don't really know for sure.  In my case, my company requires us to "log in" the first time each day that we access some non-company internet site, and I think it is related to that, but that is as far as I have correlated it.  Hopefully someone will know as it is a pain in the a$@$ to lan log in all the time to ones own site....

We are hosted at www.surftown.com - we have the product called 'Advanced' in this list: http://www.surftown.com/default.asp?docid=D27C286D-B15D-403D-9F46-850EA181E56F

I would guess the problem is related to AD as the problem only occurs on machines in a domain, but I could be wrong -I am no expert ! (BTW: is there a way to completely disable the Active Directory integrstion in DNN?)

Thanks..
Leon
