DNN Users Assured Access to Accurate, Current Mobile Device Information for Professional Websites Built on DNN

San Mateo, Calif. – February 15, 2012 – DotNetNuke Corp., the global leader for adaptive web content management software that keeps business’ online presence relevant and effective, today announced a licensing agreement with 51Degrees.mobi, the leading provider of automatic mobile device detection, mobile web optimization, and mobile analytics solutions. Through the agreement, DotNetNuke will integrate the 51Degrees.mobi Device Description Repository (DDR) into all editions of DotNetNuke 6. Access to the DDR is free for DotNetNuke users and further simplifies mobile website development on the platform. The 51Degrees.mobi DDR is used by over 20,000 developers and over 160 million new devices every month. It is one of the most widely used mobile device databases available.

The 51Degrees.mobi DDR contains the most comprehensive database of current mobile device profiles. The DDR provides complete access to device manufacturers’ specifications, usage information, and website responses. The repository contains thousands of devices, including smart phones, tablets, eBook readers, game consoles and specialty devices. The 51Degrees.mobi DDR contains the most up to date specifications about devices, and is often able to provide this information prior to the time that the device enters the market—allowing developers to keep their sites current as new devices enter the marketplace.

DotNetNuke Community Edition users will have access to the 51Degrees.mobi Lite Data edition and the ability to perform basic user interface optimization and device detection and separate mobile and non-mobile website traffic. A Premium Data edition will be available through the DotNetNuke Store giving users a convenient and affordable upgrade path from the Lite Data edition to the Premium Data edition. The Premium Data edition contains detailed information about thousands of diverse devices, each one complete with a wide range of relevant properties from screen size, input methods, operating system, browser and hardware specifics. DotNetNuke Professional Edition and DotNetNuke Enterprise Edition customers will have free access to 51Degrees.mobi Premium Data with full access to complete specifications and characteristics. All users have access to weekly automated updates. The 51Degrees.mobi DDR replaces the WURFL™ database, formerly used with the DotNetNuke 6.1 release.

"With mobile device usage expected to eclipse traditional desktop usage by 2015, companies are looking for ways to adapt and to provide personalized, relevant user experiences to site visitors, regardless of the device they are using" stated Shaun Walker, co-founder and CTO of DotNetNuke Corp. "We are excited to be able to partner with 51Degrees.mobi to provide these critical mobile capabilities into our platform."

DotNetNuke Corp. joins a growing list of ISV’s that are relying on 51Degrees.mobi as a comprehensive and reliable source of mobile device data and is proud to be the first Content Management System (CMS) to offer this capability. James Rosewell, founder and CEO at 51Degrees.mobi commented, "We’re delighted DotNetNuke Corp. has moved quickly to incorporate 51Degrees.mobi and that every DotNetNuke customer will be able to deliver the best mobile experience for their customers."
