Does anyone have any guidance on creating page templates in DNN in version 7.3? 

I have the admin role.  I have tried to create a page template to be applied to a series of pages.  I created the page, exported the page as a template marking the box copy content and then I created a new page applying the new exported template.  However when I import it and try to link it in the navigation it on the new page screen it will not give me the current parent page as an option to select so I just select another parent page and have to move it later to the right spot.

Then I removed html pro modules on the new page that I wanted linked to the parent page and add them back in by adding existing modules from the parent page on the page.  Then I exported the new template with these settings and included copy content again.  I create the next new page and  I have the same issue where I cannot select the parent page in the drop down to link it to the menu in the right place.  Also the linked modules do not get applied to the new page.  When I look at them they show they do not exist on any other page so I still have to delete and read them again to the new page.  So much for using a template if I have to add everything back in again. 

I would be grateful for any advice on creating new pages based on a template and being able to view all the navigation to select the correct location and how to add existing modules in templates.
