I've seen quite a few samples of the new Service Framework but none seem to cover my basic scenario.

For me, these services are more needed for communicating with the outside world than with a DNN module.

Is there some way to enable Metadata or make these services discoverable for example in a WPF application?

Do the authentication mechanisms even work outside of DNN. I follw4ed an example. The resulting service caused my browser to prompt for username and password but it appeared that the authentication would work in that manner.

A sample would be great, but if none are available, an indication of whether or not this scenario is intended would be helpful.
