I have built my community up only to have DNN 9 absolutley kill it 100%. For long time no one could log in I didnt realize, then I see no one can use authentication providers since August of last year. Then no i figure out no one can register on my sites anymore due to using email as registered username feature.
I have spent hours and hours and days and days trying to support DNN ecosystem and platform reporting bugs and donating all the ideas possible. All my ideas go into EVOQ and the CE gets pushed in the dirt on the side.
I like supporting the little guy and all which is why I chose and opensource CMS like DNN. My communities since DNN Corp bought out DNN have gone to 0, thats right 0. My sites are dead all of them. They were thriving last year... DEAD!!!!
Now add up all my time, all my feature requests, all my bugs, One feature request as to resend a verification email since DNN5... And just now finally got someone thinking that ok maybe we should put this in DNN CE.
It is just unfair to see how poorly this community is treated.
Sorry to vent but I need to light a fire under the community here or move on. I can take a loss... i have had many. but this one takes the cake.
Buying all these modules from DNN store, supporting all those modules, spending time troubleshooting, giving all i can to help make this product better for everyone not just me.
So my question is what is your real intent with DNN CE? Is it just a lost cause something to frustrate people into buying evoq?
Maybe I am not really welcome here. The community has had no new players for a long time. Just the same old same old, no fresh ideas just taking what the community puts out and calling it your own.
There use to be a DNN FORGE remember those days? You could find opensource and paid projects in one place.
Can someone please enlighten me on if I am at all right in saying this or am I just way off and need to sit down and be quiet and wait another year or two for a solid release to build a basic login, register, logout production community site with.
I wish there was still Active Social as a seperate business things seemed so much more on track and the community was big and thriving with new ideas and modules.
Only a few players anymore doing up modules... and Im sorry but DNN Corp you cant make it all but you could make it easier for others to help you make it all.
