I have an existing DNN 4.37 site at on hosting provider.  I want to move it to another provider.  I have had all sorts of problems moving the site and could really use some tips to make this happen.  Seems like this would be a common task many people need to do.

So far, this is what I have done....

I have a .bak file of my database from my existing site.  I also have all the files via ftp that I downloaded from my existing host.  I restored my database at the new host and updated the web.config file after I uploaded by existing DNN files.  The site won't come up (page not found) with the new hosting provider.

Any and all help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Alan

The most common reason for this is that you haven't added the new portal alias for your new site. http://www.ventrian.com/Resources/Articles/tabid/213/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/82/Moving-DotNetNuke-Sites-from-Dev-To-Prod.aspx describes the steps most people use for moving sites.
