I'm suspiciuous my problem may be related to Asp.Net 2.0, not to DNN, but thought someone could have run over this problem and found a solution.

When deploying the Import interface in a module, I am getting the strings this way (resumed):

dim stringToImport as string = system.xml.xmlnode.SelectSingleNode("adress").innertext

The problem is I am missing some chars when importing. Example: when importing "StreetName 15, 5º4ª" I get "StreetName 15, 54". (This is a normal string for adress representation in cities in Spain. 5º means the floor, and 4ª stands for the door number in 5th floor.)

Which other characters may be escaped also? Why? How to correct it?

Thank you.

Its probably due to the following code in Export.ascx.vb ehich creates the xml file.

Content = "<?xml version=""1.0"" encoding=""utf-8"" ?>" & _

Can you check whether the xml file itself contains the extra characters.

Thank you Charles for the answer but I think the xml file is correct as you point out:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" ?><content type="Pacient" version="01.00.01"><Pacients>
  <Pacient>
    ...
    <Adress>GANDESA,6 4º1ª</Adress>
    ...
  </Pacient>
</Pacients></content>

Maybe I have to change the 'encoding' type?

Found the problem.
Originated in my case from the xml builder.

The node should look like:
GANDESA,6 4º1ª

As it was not correct the XML, when reading from it, didn't return the string expected.
