I inherited an extranet site that was originally developed in ibuyspy. I want to upgrade it to dotnetnuke, but I can't find documentation to do it. To make matters worse, several costly modules were custom developed for it. I need to change and upgrade this site to make it comply with our new company marketing and communications guidelines. Can anyone out there point me in the right direction to find the information I'm looking for??

Unfortunately, I think it’s more a matter of porting to a DotNetNuke website than upgrading. You’re best bet for upgrading would be to look at early versions of DotNetNuke (that were based on IBuySpy) but I don’t know if there was ever a direct upgrade route. Then you’d have to upgrade to the latest version of DotNetNuke.

I imagine your IBuySpy modules will be the biggest factor. You should evaluate the cost of converting them to DNN and see if it’s feasible. You may find it easier to run DNN side-by-side with your existing application than to modify your custom modules to run within DNN.

Thanks, I sort of anticipated that reply, but I thought I would throw it out there. My instinct is to download the latest version of DNN and play with it on a test server and see if I can re-tool the two custom modules to work with it. I guess I just didn't know where to start...
