The main table in my skin (.ascx file ) has a background-image.

<table style="background-image:url(MarbleTile.jpg)" width="775" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" bgcolor="#ffffee">

Now, when I open my Home page in a new browser window, the image is there.  I can refresh the browser and it stays there.  But if I click on any page (even if I click on the Home page link, which I'm already on) , the image disappears and never comes back unless I open a new browser.   I don't see anything in the container .css that would override it and changing containers doesn't help.

Any suggestions???

Thanks.

Mark

For the benefit of those looking for help, I took the background-image out of the ascx file and placed it in the corresponding .css file, and it works fine.

But, I still don't understand why!??

Why it showed up originally I'm not sure but the proper format should have been "background-image:url(<%SkinPath%>MarbleTile.jpg)"

My hunch is that you were looking at the home page through two "different" yet "equivalent" URLs, so far as DNN was concerned. The second URL was at a different folder level according to HTTP rules, so the reference path to the image was invalid. When you put the image reference in a CSS file, the reference is relative to the CSS file, not the web page because you didn't use an inline style. For that and other reasons, IMHO, I would enourage you to continue using CSS files and avoid inline styles.
