Hi guys!

I just did an upgrade from 4.0.2 to the latest 4.4.0 using the "best practice" way to do it. Upgrade itself seemed to be successfull and reported no errors. However, when opening the solution in Visual Studio 2005 and trying to build, I get this error:

Error 4 Type 'EventQueue.EventQueueController' is not defined. D:\eFlex\www\Website\App_Code\Global.asax.vb 264 41 http://localhost/eFlex_development/

Which is understandable, because the EventQueue.EventQueueController is nowhere to be found in the entire solution. I even did a file search for it but found no source code files declaring the class at all. Only thing I found was an EvenQueue folder on disc which just contains a Readme and a config file. And this is where I am now.

Naturally, the build will never work since the classes and members functions are nowhere to be found. Am I doing something wrong here or did the update screw up somehow? I am all out of possible solutions to try here, since I just can't seem to find any traces of the EventQueue.EventQueueController at all in the solution...where is it supposed to be??

Help please :-)

/pJ

I just found out that there is a hole lot of changes that has been made to the Library part of DotNetNuke that wasn't included in this "upgrade", which probably explains why it went the way it did. So...how am I supposed to upgrade if I am a software developer using DNN and not just a siteowener? Should I just manually copy the contents on the "Library" folder on top of what I already have, or should I download the source-package and do a clean installation? What should I then do to avoid having to setup a new database etc? Or will DNN sense that the database is already upgraded if the connection strings are correct?

Lots of questions, hopefully some good answers also :-)

If you have the source version then that file and all the rest of the EvenQueue should be in the folder  <root>/Components/EventQueue

If you can't find it there, then I'm pretty sure it hasn't changed since I developed it, so you can use the files from an older version of DNN.

The EventQueue folder definately isn't in my previous version "04.00.02" and so the current Upgrade package can not be used with this version, as it will crash as soon as calls starts comming in for those classes. Am I wrong here or is the upgrade path not complete back to 04.00.02?

I just downloaded the 4.4 source package and the files are there.

By any chance are you unzipping the package without using the "retain folders" method?

I do know what you mean about how hard it is to keep up with changes in the source though.  Especially if folders are moved around.  My approach is to always start new with each new release, but this is very hard to do if you are also making changes to the core.
