Hi everybody,

We have dnn 04.03.07 running and a lot of images are not visible in our site. The images came from any modules and even the twistees are not visible. The strange things is that it's could work fine for a while and then images disappear. I check the url and there is no problem with them, they are good. I also check the folders permissions on the server and there is no problems there also (everybody have read permissions).

I search the forums but just found some tips about disabling the "compression" in host settings ...but coiuld not found this parameter in ths host settings.

Somebody have any ideas ???

Thanks in advance,

Sebastien.

Compression and whitespace filter have been introduced in DNN 4.4.0, previous versions can use either 3rd party modules like Pageblaster or IIS compression - in this case, you might need to configure the compression settings correctly. Are the links provided starting with "LinkClick.aspx" or are classic URLs provided to the images?

Hi,

thank for your response. The url provided are classic, there is no "LinkCkick.aspx". Even the images in the menus some time disappear (in the host menu by example).

Any others ideas ???

Sebastien.

sorry for interrupting, but I have exactly the same problem (or at least the same symptoms), please see:

Hi,

I've had this several times now and I'm hoping somebody can help me:

The media module seems to loose images without any reason.

When I click the paste the link in the src tag I get:

You Do Not Have Permission To View The Requested File

I checked the folder permissions and this is ok, What could have happened?

Thanks!

Right now I have to edit all my media modules and reselect the image (for some reason it looses reference to the image?) and then it's ok. But this is a very undesirable situation.

When I log in as host I even don't see the image. I guess host has all the required permission right? Or is it just loosing the file reference and giving the wrong error? The module doesn't loose the alt tag for instance.

I'm using DNN 4.4.0 / Media 3.2.3 / non-dbo db user. First I thought it had something to do with upgrading, nut now it happened out of nothing.
