This is not enabled by default on my DNN installation. Do I need to enable it to purge the site log every X days as defined in host settings?
DotNetNuke.Services.Log.EventLog.PurgeLogBuffer, DOTNETNUKE
Same here. Do I need to enable it to automatically purge log buffer if I choose the option in host settings?

Same here. Do I need to enable it to automatically sync file system if I choose the option in host settings?
DotNetNuke.Services.Search.SearchEngineScheduler, DOTNETNUKE
This is enabled by default, but that is it for? I don't have search function enabled on my DNN. Do I still need this?

Thanks.
Same here. Do I need to enable it to automatically purge cache as defined in each module? Without enabling it will DNN ever clear its cache itself?
