Hi,

I'm sure this is a common problem, I have a DNN4 system and I need to have some aspx pages of my own in there.  I have created my own system, which is installed in a sub directory.  It then comes up with an error because it's trying to load up all of the files from the DNN web.config file as well as my own, which aren't needed.  I've heard about doing the remove name option, and have tried this but there is so much in the config file I cannot work out what to remove.  This must be a common requirement and presumably there is simply a config file somewhere that can be downloaded, but I'm jeffed if I can find it!

Any help appreciated, sorry if this is a common issue or in the wrong forum.

Dale.

I am not sure that this is the way you should be pursuing.  The "pages" you want to provide "external" to dnn, could just as well be written as "modules".

The requirements for a module are very basic - there is no requirement to use the dnn database.

For the most part if you converted a "page" into a "user control" (.ascx) that inherits from PortalModuleBase, you can put almost any code in the control.  The only thing you need to do then is to add a Module Definition for the module in the Host/Module Definitions page.

Hi,

I'm not sure this can work but you can try defining the sub-directory as a virtual directory.

I think this should isolate the web.config of your aspx pages.
