I put a recommendation in Gemini, but maybe it bears repeating here.

Instead of having Excluded Mime types, it would be much more efficient and less likely to cause problems if the module only worked on content type = text/html.

This way you wouldn't even need the Excluded Mime types configuration, which is only going to keep growing as more and more things that should not be compressed are discovered.

Also, the excluded paths should not have to be listed so explicitly.  It would be much better if a RegEx compare was used, but if it isn't taken that far then it should at the very least only check that the path contains the excluded item.

BTW, if is looking for a free compression module that also does dynamic page output caching then PageBlaster is available now with the features I mentioned.

One reason for this error is because of your IIS...

You should add .axd to your in your IIS throuth this way...go to Virtual Directory andthen click Configuration button and add .axd extension...

This solves my problem...

Has anybody got a complete exact (step-by-step) solution to this issue?

I've tried everything suggestion in this thread - turn off compression, comment it out of the web.config, whitespace, clear cache, clear browser cache, exclude webresource.axd, etc.

Still not working.  It's the WebForm_DoPostBackWithOptions javascript function that doesn't work.  IE 7 says 'event' is null or not an object.  Firefox 2.0 gives this error in the Error Console: Error: event is not defined
Source File: http://dnn-test/aspnet_client/system_web/2_0_50727/WebUIValidation.js
Line: 128.

From what I've read, WebUIValidation.js contains the built-in ASP.NET client-side validation functionality.  Is there a problem in the way its functions are being called?  What does webresources.axd have to do with it?

Someone please advise.
