Dstruve

I simply addred webresource.axd to the list of exceptions in compression settings. They all worked fine after that.

I've had other problems related to running under IIS7 though... I still had intermittent problems downloading from the repository. I moved to our production IIS6 server and everything works fine after that. I never bothered to try to fix the problems with IIS7, but I suspect it may be due to compression there as well...

Hello

Has anybody found a solution to this problem that works.

If so what can you please post step by step instructions.

I updated 2 sites to 4.4.1. at the same time.

Site #1 upgraded from 4.4. 0 (I disabled compression in web.config prior to upgrade)

Site #2 upgraded from 4.3.1

I had postback problem with site #1 and tried some suggestions already posted in this forum, without any luck.

I disabled DNN compression module and installed Snapsis.Pageblaster instead. On site #2 everything works well, but on site #1 the postback problem with IE6 has gone but FF persists. However, I am having other unrelated problems with Site #1, but Site #2 is working well.

To answer my own question:

With the help of John Mitchell from Snapsis I managed to solve my Postback problem and retain compression.

As mentioned above I tried Snapsis.Pageblaster, but I still had postback problems.  It was discovered that a 3rd party URL ReWrite module I was using, was not compatable. I changed to updated Inventua, re installed Snapsis.Pageblaster. Site now up and running and working fine.

I hope this helps someone else.

Lynn

Hello DV

I think perhaps I have been a little premature in thinking that the problem was solved.  Because the next day FF developed the postback problem again.

I have Ventrain installed on one site and Invnetua on another, I don't want to say which one is problematic because they are both great modules. I think it depends on the individual site. I have found that one of them works on one site, but not on the other, yet  both sites are DNN 4.4.1.

Why don't you try it and see if it works for you.

I've seen the same problem with 4.4.1 after enabling "Use Whitespace Filter" on the Host > Host Settings tab in the "Advanced Settings" / "Performance Settings" section. "Compression setting" was "No Compression" and "Compression Level" was "None".

With Whitespace-Filter enabled, I couldn't update any tab- or module-setting any more and got the same errors with MS Internet Explorer and Firefox.

In my case, the problem was solved immediately after disabling the Whitepsace-Filter again.

I suppose there's a flaw in the regular expression defined for the Whitespace-Filter by default, but didn't look closer into this yet.
