I am not sure what happened. I have many protals for testing.

I don't understand about the DNN membership system cross multiple portals. Does it all different portal have the same user account?

Why I ask this question is because when I create a new portal and I use the same administrator for convenient. But system will ask me to create a different account because there is already a the same account name exist!!

And other problem is I have several testing portals they have the same administrator. For example portal A and portal B both have a administrator account name Eric. (I create these portal long time ago.). One day, I think one of the testing portals doesn't need anymore. So I delete that portal (ex: I delete portal A). Then something happened!! I can't use Eric to login into Portal B. But other account about the portal B is no problem. Actually, I login as host account. I found the Eric still exist in Portal B's member list. But some data are incorrect. I check the database. It seems the user data for asp login was delete? (aspnet_Users  and aspnet_Membership).

Does this the problem of the DNN system?

Is there more information for the member system I can reference?

Can the same account name exist with different portals? Will it have problem when I delete a portal that has the same account with other portal?

Could anybody help me about this issue?

By design, you can only use the same account name, if it has the same password, otherwise you need different account names.

I am using 4.4.1 now. But I install 4.3.2 first and upgrade from 4.3.2, 4.3.3, ....to 4.4.1.

Actually I use the same account name and password when I create portal. But I can't use the same account name and password as the new portals administrator.

Could I summary it?

As I understand now. The user account can't cross portal. Am I right? (Because I don't believe that two different people who choose the same account name(This is possible!) can choose the same pass word(This is almost impossible!) at the same time!!)

That means general user can't have both account Eric in both PortalA and PortalB, is this correct?
