Is there a way to progrmmatically hide the 'new thread' button and show 'reply' button to registered users. BEcause i want all registered users(not admin) to be able to reply to exixting threads. Currently i find only the Administrator to be able to reply as well as create new thread..

You would have to do security checks around where this written, so it could be done.

I would look into the beta version, it allows you to set start and reply seperately based on role.

Hi Chris,
Being able to apply Create and Reply to different security roles will make my life tons easier.  Any chance that the new build will allow you to approve new threads, but allow replies to be posted without approval?

Do you use Oracle?  Then try GoldFish.Net

Get it from CNET Download.com!

No, no chance of that sorry. Although I cannot know every use case, I am pretty sure seperating moderation for new threads and replies would be an odd one and not one you see in lots of forum software.
