Not quite a DNN problem, but related.

I've got adminstrator desktop access to the web server and an sa login to SQL Server, but when I open the DotNetNuke database in SQL Server Manager's oject explorer I cannot see any of the DNN tables, Stored Procedures etc. I also cannot see any tables etc in the test_db

Any ideas?

If you are logging into the database with the true sa account, I would gather that you are not looking towards the correct database.

If DNN is working the tables must exist.  Do you see any tables in the database?

Yep - DNN is working fine. I followed the installation instructions to create a new DB in SQL Server when I first set up the portal, so assumed to database would be found through the SQL Server Manager, and indeed there is a DotNetNuke.mdf file in SQL Server's data directory - though only 3 meg in size. However, after some looking around I've found the Database.mdf in \DotNetNuke\App_Data which is a more realistic 16 meg in size.

The question now is how do I connect to and manage the database.mdf file? Among other things I need to amend a stored procedure that is stopping my site log working.

As you can probably tell, I'm not the server admin type ;-)

Thanks,

Pete

have a look into the Blog from Shaum Mehaffie here on DNN.com, where he describes how to access .mdf files.
