Hello,

We are having an issue that just started happening within the past day. Our site seems to be in an infinite loop when we both browse to the site and when we try to debug it.

I was gone yesterday and when I came back this morning myself and our developers are now having this issue. I can't even browse to the site to change any host settings. I tried creating a new web site on a different port and changing the portal aliases manually in the database and still get the redirect.

Please help! We can't do any work until this is fixed.

Thanks in advance!
Janet

After changing the portal aliases did you hit the web.config to reset the application?

Thanks for the quick reply. I tried that. Also tried iisreset afterward.

I should also mention that yesterday one of my colleagues was trying to get a non-DNN site (just regular .NET) to work under the Default Web Site as well. This morning we removed the .NET site from under the Default Web Site -- we got a web.config error regarding the URLrewrite dll for the .NET site so it became obvious it would have to reside on it's own web site to avoid web.config conflicts. Then I tried creating a new web site with port 81 to point to the DNN site (changing the portal alias manually, modifying the web.config and doing an iisreset) -- still nada.

Then I put the DNN site back under the Default Web Site as the root (so in IIS the Default Web Site directory reads c:\inetpub\wwwroot\dnnsite), changed web.config, did iisreset and NADA.

I'm going to try blowing the whole thing away and starting from scratch since we have the original code in source safe.

Well, blowing away the entire directory and setting it up from scratch worked. And this time, I made it a virtual directory and didn't point the root to our DNN application which should allow us to include other non-DNN .NET sites within the Default Web Site.
