The biggest problem I have with the gallery module is the lack of a bulk upload facility. I would like to be able to point to a folder of pictures and have all of them uploaded and added to a gallery album. Having to do 100s of pictures individually is not satisfactory.

On the other hand - is there a way to do this that I have not found? If so please let me know.

The Rainbow picture module has an excellent bulk upload capability - this is the best solution I have seen so far.

regards, Mark

Hi Mark
I use a "fix" of the gallery module I found from a link in the gallery forums. Gallery 2006.10.29
Not sure if this feature is in the standard module.

Q. How can I upload a bunch of files easily?

You can zip up all of the images into one big zip file. Then login to the gallery and select the option to “add image”. Select your zip file and it will upload the zip file and unzip all of the images into the albumn.
Or you can:
1.       In the directory where you have your albums stored, create a directory for your new album.
2.      Create a directory called _Source in this directory
3.      Upload all of your files to the _Source directory
4.      Login to your portal, go to the gallery/album you just created in the gallery module
5.      Select the maintenance option, select all of the image, and select synchronize. This will create all of the medium sized images and thumbnails.

Hope this helps.
