I have a godaddy economy plan with now comes with 1 200mb sql server database. I have configured my server, changed the connection string in the web.config file, and setup the appropriate permissions on the nessisary folders. The install works on my local box but fails with this error when I attempt an install on my hosted server:

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Source Error:

I have the same error on a non godaddy hosted plan but i think similar in the way godaddy is setup.

Did you find a fix for this or can someone explain what is the problem so i can ask the host to fix ?

my error (above) on non go daddy was fixed, it was to do with having correct permissions on the root...YOu should check the permission requirements in the installation documentation for dnn it explains whats needed. I did this with the host and now all ok here
