Hi All,

I was looking into a way to auto enroll various registrants into various roles by way of authentication or RSVP code.

I ran into Nina's blog at http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Default.aspx?tabid=825&EntryID=470 and she states:

But let's just say you wanted to send out information to your registered users to access this sales information - or even an new person coming to your site - email them the RSVP code and then, without you having to intervene, they would be assigned the Sales Information role - and get access to the information immediately.

But there is no follow up on this and I cannot find any info on how to use the RSVP to place users into roles. I tested it out by creating a role, assigning an RSVP code, then logging out, clicking registration, registering a test user, but nowhere in the registration process is there a place to use the RSVP. Can anyone give some guidance please?

User Attributes could be configured to accomplish this. www.ucanuse.com

Its not in the "registration process" but it is in the profile when the User has logged in under Manage Services.

Then the user just enters the RSVP code to self-subscribe to the roles that have been assigned the RSVP code. (Note: there is NO restriction on using the same code for multiple roles).

Please note as well, that rvsp codes are assigned only at login time (unless Charles changed this), so the user needs to logout/login again.

I see...thanks. That is a useul feature that would work and help me designate users into certain roles.

But ideally, I wish I could have controll of what verification code they are sent, so when they log in the first time, they would be auto-enrolled into pre-defined roles according to the verification code they enter. Is there some way to do something like this? Or is there some other way to auto assign registrants into pre-defined roles?
