Hi,

I have a DNN website hosted by Frankland hosting. I removed all the DNN modules that I'm not using. So I only have the Catalook modules and a few DNN modules. I also installed MMLinks and DSLocalizator from Delisoft (http://dnn.tiendaboliviana.com) As HTML editor I use the FCK editor. Now my application shutdowns a lot (almost each 5 minutes) even without any visitors. My hosting company says that it is caused by to much memory usage (more then 195 kb) For me that is strange. When I test my DNN site (it is not the same as the hosting ones but I just wanted to see what a DNN site usage for memory) it did not became more then 160 kbs (and that was with all DNN modules+catalook and other 3th party modules that I use) My hosting company upgraded my website from DNN 4.3.7 to DNN 4.4 but it did not help to solve my problem. So my questions is if someone has an idea about what can cause this shutdowns and how I can get the memory usage lower ? Thanks, Benny

I'm sure you mean MB, instead of KB.

You can do something to make your site use less memory:

  • if you are using module caching, make sure caching is set to disk
  • check whether you set caching to Heavy or Moderate
  • Check whether page state persistance is set to Memory (it should be set to page to save memory)

Anyhow, 160 MB to 200 MB is already pretty large for dnn even, so you might think about upgrading to a larger hosting account that will allow you to use more memory.

For third party sites running on my servers, i use 150 MB as default value, clients must pay more if they want to use more...

I agree with everything listed above.  I had the same problem with my host.  I changed my caching to Moderate and made sure it was pointing to disk not memory.  I have not had any problems since.
