I moved an entire dnn site from one ISP to another by copynig the database and file structure to a folder that was already had the proper permissions.  The site consists of one parent and one child portal.  I changed the aliases to recognize the new address and the parent works fine but the child doesn't.  DNN completely ignores the alias so IIS looks for a virtual directory of the same name.  I created the directory and threw a "you shouldn't see this page" page in it just to confirm that the above is happening.

So...what could be breaking the alias?  And...yes...I've doublechecked it for errors.

if you create a child portal in DNN, a subfolder is created with same name and a default.aspx residing inside, that redirects to the main folder's default.aspx with an appropriate paramter. Id you move your site, you need to adopt the default.aspx in the subfolder, if you rename the subdomain's name, you need to rename the folder.
