You can turn off the display of the location under "Forum Administration" -> "General Settings", the option is called "Show Poster's Location".  You can then choose who can see the location, or hide it  all together.

I would prefer to keep the display on (90% of them are correct) but I don't see why it does not just use the User's profile country - surely the Geo lookup is more expensive and sometimes inaccurate (on about 5 % of users).

Anyway - there's enough on the Forum teams plate at the mo with the upcoming version and this is fairly trivial - just adding my 2 cents.

Rodney,

try to use an updated GeoIP.dat (the one, that is included with DNN is about 2 years old), you can download for free from www.maxmind.com 

Regarding the feature itself, I would prefer, if any module would use geoip data only for anonymous users, otherwise taking it from user profile. If I am travelling abroad, I have no interest to display the visited country instead of my home country. My 2 cents.
