I am attempting a new installation.

I have a shared GoDaddy account and I'm setting up the SQL Server database.

I am going through the Create SQL Server Database Wizard Instructions.

Do I need to enable the DSN?
Do I need to install schema features?

SQL & databases are new to me. I appreciate any pointers you can give.

I have successfully created the database & installed DNN 4.4.1

I did not install the schema features, not sure what these are or what they do, but they do not appear to be necessary for a successful install.

I did enable the database DSN but did not put the name the wizard generated in the web.config file & the install seemed to work fine, I'm assuming there is a purpose for the database DSN name that I have not found a use for yet.

I have a shared GoDaddy web hosting account. I had tried several attempts installing DNN using the GoDaddy provided install which was unsuccessful.

When I deleted all the GoDaddy generated databases & files & started over creating the database myself and uploading the install files myself it worked like a charm. I am unfamiliar with databases, SQL Server & DNN so I thought it would be easier to go with the GoDaddy provided install functions which was not the case. It turned out to be a lot easier creating the database & installing it myself.
