I have copied the new web.config...
The installationdate settings I havent touched.  All the docs I read didnt mention it I dont think and neither did the advice I've read on these forums.  What needs doing there?

Also, I've tried browsing to the install.aspx and it comes up with a blank page.  I've noticed that another user is having the same issue. Any ideas guys?

This usually mean you should restore the backup database prior to the upgrade attempt, and start the upgrade process all over.  Once you have a failed attempt, you got stuff that are half installed and would be a mess to try to sort them out.
