a:active doesn't have any effect on the SolPart menu (as far as I can tell anyway), so the items still 'jump' down when clicked on.

The skinning documentation is good for explaining the use of the SolPart menu control, however it's explanation of the default CSS and what CSS selectors affect what is rather hazy, and I find the naming conventions confusing - I'm sure I just need it all clearly explained to me though. The documentation I have is the 'DotNetNuke Skinning.pdf' from teh DNN docs zip. It seems the most recent versions of these docs is 2005... is there any other docs I've missed?

dnncreative's site is a great reference.

I also wanted to mention that I agree with you that the naming of the properties in the skin object are confusing.  This is what led to the creation of the Nav skin object and a more organized set of properties.  You can find more information on these new properties in the Navigation WebControls document..

Thanks Lee - I have used the site many times already!

And thanks Jon.

For the moment I have used the HOUSEMENU SkinObject (which I'm guessing uses the tools you were talking about Jon), which spits out a very basic HTML list - absolutely perfect for full control of styling with CSS!
