Hi Folks

When i try to run the startup kit from the installation instructions i get the error for the dotnetnuke module saying this was Installation stopped because the directory for the ProjectType value did not exist.  The project type is invalid for your installation of Visual Studio.

Any ideas?

Hi Colin

I Didnt get a reply from here but there was a problem with the installation as i had to get an infastructure engineer in the company to set me up with a Server so as you can tell if you want something done right do it yourself.

Basically when you have created your site and you then make a new database you have to name it the same as your site.

There are some things that need to be changed i can assist you with this if you require it was through trial and error i managed to get it working.

You have to change sone code to but it just a name very very simple.

Let me know

Mark

Hi Mark,

I think I've named the database the same now. If you could point out any other changes I'd appreciate it.

Cheers, Colin

I got the same error but my sites seem to be working as they should. I was reading in the doc's(from memory I haven't confirmed this before I posted this) but I'm pretty sure I read in the docs one of the limitations of using vwd2005exp is that some of the project templates or module templates won't work in that IDE. Are you both using vwd200exp if so your problem might be somewhere else  and not connected to that error message.
