I have just installed a clean version of 4.1.1 with the full install running smooth as silk.  But I can't login as either Host or Admin...

I have done all the obvious things like double checking the passwords, case settings, restarted IIS, etc.  I did set an object qualifier for the db, which I've never done before.  Could this be a factor?

I have multiple other DNN instals all working fine.  This is the first time I've had this issue.

Thanks, Scott

what happens when you try to login?  Do you get an error?

Do you see the default site content?

Everything is normal.  Default content is all there.  I've checked the DB and all the correct entries are there for the host and admin accounts.

When I try and login using host and dnnhost, or admin and dnnadmin I get the "incorrect password" message (and a reminder that they are case sensitive).

I've never had this issue before in more than a dozen DNN installations.

One interesting point is that I tried to retrieve the password for admin using the Forgot Password function and got the error, "There was an error retrieving your password. No password was sent."

I can create a new registration no problems as well.  I just can't login as admin or host!

Tks, Scott

If you have other user account that are working and you know their password you can forcefully set the password for your admin account.  See this blog of mine to see how to do it. http://mitchelsellers.com/Blogs/tabid/54/EntryID/23/Default.aspx

As far as I know it is not possible to use the forgotten password feature for admin and host, but I could be wrong.

Many thanks Mitchel!

Your scripts worked a treat.  I still don't know why there was an issue and I have no idea what the passwords were set to by the install.

Anyway all fixed.  Thanks again.

Scott
