After a painful year with one of the sponsors of this site, who we have used for hosting, I am fed up and looking for a new provider.  The previous webmaster chose an economical web host.  The problems we currently have are extremely slow page loads (often timing out), error messages when logging in, and poor service.  As an example, we were asked to backup our site ourselves when "they" needed to take care of a hardware issue.  My best guess is that it was a reseller situation, where the reseller had no control over the process.

I am looking for a decent DNN host that can offer decent performance for a small business site that receives maybe 700 page loads per day.   I am not looking for some budget $25/month package.  I spent all afternoon making just minor updates that should have taken minutes-- time is money.  Finally, the garish design of some hosting resellers scares me from ever doing business there.  Ideally, I would prefer to work with a real company that has some level of control over their service--- not a mere reseller.  I do not envision that we need a dedicated package, but I don't want to be sharing with a bunch of high traffic sites.

Any recommendations?

Um.... we are already using them.  It often takes a half minute for a simple page to load, and sometimes pages are timing out .  Our experience has been very different than yours, apparently.  To be fair, our problems are intermittent-- and we sit on a 20 mbps line.  Today everything is working well--- yesterday was a disaster.

Have you tried CrystalTech? I just joined them yesterday and I've heard good things about them from other core team members. Additionally, Alec (who works there) provided AWESOME support with some technical issues after I had uploaded my site. Alec is also part of the DNN teams (I believe he manages the links module)....
