We are currently deciding how to proceed with the creation of our website. We are about to use the new version of sharepoint and we need a forum(as well as probably other sections to follow) I am quite interested in using DNN and I would like to use the forum section as a kind of bolt on to the site. My question is can it be configured so that users don't neeed to log in to the forum section seperately?
I am quite interested in DNN and would like to get a bit of practice and then introduce more DNN content as I get more experienced with it

If you're going to use the DNN Forum module, I'd suggest taking a look at getting the site setup using DNN completely, setting up a sharepoint site and a DNN site is possible, but I'm not sure what the advantages would be.

Nevertheless, if you want to go that route, you could set it up, but you'll need to configure the Authentication Provider for DNN to use your sharepoint system for authentication, and possibly cookies between the two to stay logged in. Not a simple task, but possible.

Thanks Chris
It appears as if there is a line between good learning experience and mountain thats too high. It may be too much to take on if it involves a lot of work as we are sometimes very busy, but I would like to explore DNN and use some of the options it offers, so if we manage to get it set up for the forums then it should be a snap to add other components. I think possibly the other option would be rather to link the two together, I could create an account for the DNN site with the same User: and PW: when I create a sharepoint account for them. It would mean a bit of inconvenience for them having to log in again but would save a lot of work or just be a back up if I can't get it to work. Do you think it is possible to have the two systems use the same username and password and to allow either to change the password?
