I am building a site (my version is 4.1.1). Basically, I only want Partners of the company to be able to register and access the site using the Account Login/Register feature. How do I set the site up so that only assigned specific individuals/parties can register on the site. The Register feature right now (which is there by default) pretty much allows anybody with an email address to register (public). Is there a way to do this or make it non-public? Is removing the REGISTER feature and doing it manually a good way to do it? or can I give out certain Invitation codes for someone put in so that only the people with the codes can register. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

The Register link obviously needs to be public, but what you can do is make your site's registration either Verified (confirmed via email) or Private (you must approve all registrations).  This is done in Site Settings.

Thanks Shawn. That helps a bit. Btw, how do I get rid of the Register feature totally? I think I can do without that feature. I have seen some websites without the REGISTER link and also without the Register option in the Account Login module?

My question is somewhat along the same lines.  I have a module (from DataSprings) that is to take place of the registration process.  Now I only want this module to overtake the Registration and not the "user Management".  So if the user clicks the register button they will go to the new page with the module's new registration.  but once they are a Member, if they click their name, they will go to the core's user profile management section.

If I set this in the Site Settings to point to the new page, lose the core functionality for members.

Any ideas how I could possibly over come this?

I should also state I'm using dnn 4.4.0 and have thought of setting registration off to not show the registration button.  But because during the registration process, I need to have the user Logged in when going to the next page (for payment purposes), that I must have it set to public.

Unless someone knows a way I could still keep the user logged in (not just approved).

Thanks in advnace
