I was wondering if DNN could be run from a cd or dvd. I found this software: http://www.dwebpro.com/ that claims it can run asp.net from a cd based webserver. Has anyone done anything like this to distribute their product catalog information, for example? (I don't work for DWebPro) What do you think?

Quote:
"DWebPro is a stand alone web server developed specifically for distributing dynamic web sites (for example PHP/MySQL, ASP.Net/Ms Access) on CD or DVD without needing to rewrite the web site code. With DWebPro, you can easily create CDs or DVDs demonstrating the amazing capabilities of your web site, all while never being connected to the Internet."

Ok, I thought about this some more. The answer is no because the database has to run, too. I assume that SQL express could not be made to do this?

Yes, you would need to have SQL Server available, an then the databse would need to be created there, I do not believe that this would work.

There are or were several programs available at snowcovered that create(d) a HTML copy of a complete DNN website. You might try that as an alternative.
