I'm using the dnn:Menu control in 3.3.5.  I would like to dynamically remove/disable certain pages from the menu based on certain user criteria.  So basically I want to not give users access to certain pages until they complete earlier steps / pages.

I have tried to create user roles and remove roles but it seems like it works some of the time and not others.   Is there a better/different way to do this without using roles?  I haven't found anywhere to manually disable pages in the menu.

Thanks,

Gregg

That is done through the Page Settings - second button on the top left -

The menu is dynamic. It follows the rules of DNN which is why we suggest working with the menu rather than putting in your hard coded menu which some people like to do to get a certain look.

You must be getting the roles wrong since it's been successfully implemented since DNN began.

You cannot remove menus manually.   I can assure you these roles work.

Perhaps if you explain when you're experiencing, one of the core team members can explain where you are going wrong, but don't look for manual menu disabling since it's all based on the roles set via Page Settings.

Thanks Nina,

The problem we were having was because we were expiring the cookie with addminutes(1) for some reason.  So the roles were seeming to delay before changing.  We changed the cookie to expire imediately and the roles/menu items seem to changing immediately now.

Thanks again for your help.
