Hello

I have created 1000 child portals for my customers with the current dnn version 4.4.1.

Now starting one child portal (browse the first page) the cpu goes immediatly to 100% on the sqlserver.exe service!!

After the iisreset.exe, the cpu returns to 0%.

Please help, what is dnn going to make on my Sql Server 2005?

Thanks for any idea.

Chris

If you're running a non-express version of sql server, and have access to sql server profiler, I reccomend attaching the profiler and viewing the load of the queries executed against your database. That should quickly help identify which procedure is causing the bottleneck.

Hope this helps!

Start with turning off all scheduled tasks.

Thanks

I turned off the scheduled task: "DotNetNuke.Services.Search.SearchEngineScheduler".

This was the performance killer, indexing 1000 child portals!!

What does this task exactly do?

Thanks for help
Chris

The search engine scheduler I believe handles configuring the search tables to allow searching.  You might want to have that run maybe once a day or soemthing like that.  To keep the index updated.
