An open letter to AspDotNetStoreFront and DotNetNuke,

I read a post on the DotNetNuke forums a little more than a month ago that they had selected the AspDotNet StoreFront software as their solution to provide their ecommerce solution to power the DotNetNuke marketplace. The original post is located here, http://www.dotnetnuke.com/About/NewsRoom/MediaReleases/AspDotNetStorefrontforDotNetNukeMarketplace/tabid/993/Default.aspx

As luck would have it, about that same time I was looking for an option other than SnowCovered to provide a sales solution for my site. I looked briefly at the DNN store module and a couple of other solutions but they either didn't suit my situation or they just didn't work. I decided at the time to give the AspDotNet StoreFront option a try. I thought I would submit a pre sales question about the suitability of their solution to my site. Well, it has been at least a month with no feedback on my question but low and behold today I have been so lucky as to have received some communication. Not only have they not answered my pre-sales question, they've managed to add my email address to their spam list and sent me no less than 4 emails in a span of 1 hour and 3 minutes about their product.

Now, I have to say, I don't mind being part of an email list when I've actually purchased the product. I have a similar list of customers that I email when I want to tell them about exciting new developments from DNNStuff. But to actually add someone to an email list from a pre-sales question, let alone one that never got a reply is unquestionably bad taste. I hope that the folks from aspdotnetstorefront remedy this situation quickly. Maybe they have a superior product and can disregard the one offs like me but hey, I didn't get a reply.

1.  In general, I really don't care for anonymous postings.  If this is how you feel, then you should at least be willing to put your name behind it.

2.  These are the DotNetNuke support forums.  This post is most appropriate on the AspDotNetStorefront forums

3.  I am not sure why you are receiving these emails.  I have had extensive dealings with Rob and his entire staff at AspDotNetStorefront over the last year and they try very hard to keep their current and potential customers happy.  I am sure if you send an email to Rob or his staff they will be happy to resolve these issues.

The way this posting stands, there is not really much anyone can do.  You will likely continue to get unwanted emails, and no one is likely to get back with you because no-one knows who you are and therefore have no way resolve the issue.

We do not spam anyone. You had a completely valid customer record in our database, with OkToEMail flag set to "true". Hence, you got our news e-mails. It's just that simple. You replied with "remove" (along with a tyrade complaining to us) and we removed you.
