This has probably been answered before, in which case can someone give me the link.

I have copied a version 3 module across to a Version 4 site. I have opened the module separately from the site and want to create a version 4 stand-alone public assembly.  The module compiles fine and creates a separate DLL as you would expect, but references to the DNN label control appears to be crashing the module during execution.

How can I reference the DNN controls from my module?

with my new method of DNN4 module dev. I've also described a generic way to use DNN controls.

If you look at my projects section and the BlankModule project (the link is in my sig) you will find there a tutorial on how to do this.
