Virtually all of the "static text" items in the site can be manipulated via the "Languages" tools.  Go to Admin > Languages, and click the action menu item for Language Editor.  The first page presented by the Language Editor ( Global Resources ) contains the text for all of the various email messages.  You can find them easily by looking on the page for "EMAIL_" ( use ctrl-F in IE ).  You're likely after EMAIL_USER_REGISTRATION_PUBLIC_BODY.Text which is the content of the email sent to a new registrant using the default public registration.

I can send a TEST email through my host account under the SMTP advanced settings but when I try to send an email when a user registers or if I want to send a newsletter it doesn't work. Am I suppose to configure the email settings for the administrator account also? Where?
