I have been having issues with a memory leak in DNN 4.4.1 I have seen threads about memory leaks, but all of these point to the events module or to the blog module as the culprit. I do not have either installed on my site. I am running DNN 4.4.1 with SQL 2000 on windows 2003. I have Active Directory authentication turned on, and have the AD fix installed for 441. When the application is started, the w3wp.exe process on the Web serve shows that is it consuming approx 55 MB of Memory. As the site continues running the memory usage can reach up to 180MB before it starts throwing the error below. I get one of these for every log on, and module load event, and it quickly fills up the logs as well as making the site unusable. Restarting the Application from Host settings will not fix the issue, I have to log into the web server and restart the w3wp.exe process that is using all of the memory. It is getting to the point where I have to restart the process 2 or 3 times a day. I get anywhere from 1500 to 2500 hits a day on this particular site. Any help on solving this would be appreciated.

It's not really a leak, it's just that the app is really thirsty.

As the app is running and more pages & modules are used, more and more memory will be used for cache.

If you are staying under 200 MB you are doing pretty good with DNN.

I have caching turned off on all modules for the moment due to that being the fix suggested in the other posts I have read. With caching turned off, it shouldn't do this should it?

You can't turn off all caching.  You could reduce the amount of time that some items are cached in the Host Settings, but I strongly advise against turning it off all together.

All I know is that more than once a day I have to recycle the w3wp.exe process due to this error. I just started receiving the error after 8 months of the site running on the same server. If I let it go, the site becomes unusable. There is a memory leak somewhere and I would like to figure out where it is. I have turned off caching on all modules that are on the site. The 180 MB is generally the rule of thumb that I use now as a point to restart w3wp.exe . It has reached much higher than that if left unchecked. It continually climbs and nothing I have done has gotten it to stop. Any help on resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.
