Hi just wondered if anyone could help with an upgrade of the gallery module.  I'm using dnn 3.2.2 and forum Gallery 3.00.11 basically is driving me nuts as i have tried to remove and reinstall.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi MachineKiller,

I had that exact same problem on my dev machine when I upgraded the source to 3.2.2.  I didn't understand why because the Gallery was working fine on the live site running 3.2.2.

What it turned out to be was on my dev system which I install everything from the source I had just copied over the changed settings.ascx file then tried to open the gallery from the browser getting this same error.  What happed?  For some reason you need to open the settings.ascx file and then settings.ascx.vb file, save them both then I recompiled but I don't think you have to.  Once I did this VS was happy and the Gallery module could case all of the controls again.

This only happend with the source.  With the same versions on the live site just copying the settings.ascx worked fine.  And I learned not to change the code out from under VS like that.  :)

BTW your username worried me when I seen it in the logs I thought I was going to have to get ready for restoring backups.  ;)

well, if it makes you feel any better, i haven't even been able to get gallery working on a live site running 3.2.2 from just the install zips.  i wanted to try the default installs before i got into messing with the source versions, but maybe i just need to dive into the code.

do you have any tips on how i can get the gallery working without touching source?  i went through a standard install of 3.2.2 then installed the blog module through the host admin login / ui, then the blog module through the host admin login too.  both installed fine, but when i try to add the gallery as a module on a page i get an error (see http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/ForumsDotNetNuke/tabid/795/forumid/9/threadid/11622/threadpage/3/scope/posts/Default.aspx)

this is unlike the blog module which i can add to a blank page with no problems.

any known tweaks i could use to get it working?

Hope it helps
