I don't want to attract flames but, is there a reason why DotNetNuke.com is not running on 4.5?  That is, aside from everybody being too busy finishing 4.5?

why would you think that would attract flames?

Because some folks think that no action or position taken (or not taken) by the Core Team should be questioned and will defend them no matter what.  And let me tell you, I have the utmost respect and gratitude for their work, but really find it interesting that they are not testing 4.5 on this site.  If the upgrade process is supposed to work better, why not go ahead and apply the new version?  It just does not inspire confidence IMHO.

well.. you might be interested to know that the Global MVP Summit 2007 is going on at the moment. Being that a lot of DNN Core Team members are MVP, and will be actively visiting the Summit, I am not at all surprised DNN.com is still not running 4.5....

Just curious though. If you say "some folks", does that include you as well? (just to be clear who you are talking about)

Anyway, the ETA for 4.5 is still march 15, so just be patient for a couple of days, and you can start playing with the new version yourself....

Thank you for the response.  Attending the Summit is a good reason, although I think that it would have been a good idea to somehow plan the logistics of the trip and the personnel so that someone could do the update, no biggie however.

No, I don't think I include myself when I say some folks.  I try not to get involved in passionate arguments about technologies or the decision making processes behind them, to me these are just tools of the trade.  I will post questions that I think make sense to me as well as others but trying not to be offensive to anybody (a general life principle of mine).  And I try not to get involved in discussions about the Core Team because I don't personally know any of them and cannot vouch for their reasons or motives behind their decisions, whatever they might be.  I do consider myself a loyal DNN user and even "evangelist" of DotNetNuke (since version 1.0.10 I believe).

Thank you for your interest.

Carlos
