Yes, I managed to resolve it on Wednesday night. I didn't think I was going to get a response, so I didn't bother to post it here.

I ended up trying to roll back to 4.3.7 with no success, then tried to roll back to 4.0.2 with no success. Finally ended up re-installing 4.4.1 and copying the web.config that 'sort of' worked (that I backed up prior to attempting the roll back) back into the directory. Magically it worked, though I'm still not really sure why.

Is there a more "official" fix to this problem....just upgraded to 4.4.1 today, and "Admin" and "Host" passwords don't work. Note: They didn't get reset to the original, either...I checked that.
