I have another question in regard to installing the FCK editor.  Before I do this, shouldn't I update first to the latest version of DotNetNuke.  I have installed an 3x version.  So I started to upload the newest version.  It seems like I can't just install or update the complete file, but I have to do one folder at a time.  Is that right?

Sorry I am asking these dumb questions, but I haven't done anything like this before.

Thanks so much for all of your help.

Heidi

Heidi, I'm glad my post was helpful!  As for your other question, I am not familiar with the various hosting providers out there and what kind of access they provide.  I work on sites hosted on servers that I have full access to as they are company owned.

What you need to do you will not be able to do using the DotNetNuke File Manager.  You may need to have your hosting provider do it for you.  Do you get any technical support with your hosting plan?  I would call them first.  The actual steps that need to be performed are outlined in the text document I just don't know how to do it based on the access you have with them.  I wish I could be of more help :-(

Heidi,

please have a look here, how to upgrade your DNN3 to DNN4. If you don't have the options to configure IIS Web Site, please contact your hosting provider.

Chuck and Sebastian,

Thanks so much for all your help.  I deleted all .vb files and in the dnn bin all .dll files and installed the newest versions.  However, I'm stuck because I am not able to upload the file FreeTextBox.dll for some unknown reason.  What do I do now?  Anybody had that problem before?
Thanks,  Heidi

freetextbox.dll is not needed, if you are using FCKEditor, but it should be copied into the /bin folder during installation, otherwise the installation has failed.
