Hi All,

Is it possible to have a main portal (e.g. 0) and lots of sub portals so that the following would occur:

User signs into portal 0, Clicks on a link that takes them to subportal 1 and they are still logged in?

I know there is a module out there that copies user details to keep them in synch across portals but would that also support single sign-on or would they have to log in again?

Thanks,

Josh

The Multi Portal User Sharing module is single sign-on across all portals.

Thanks for the link.

On a similar theme do you know if it is possible to have a top horizontal menu that shows all the links for site 0 (e.g. the parent site) and have each sub-portal show it's links with a vertical menu on the side?

Thanks!

There are a couple of ways to go about doing this.

If the links are static and this deployment is intended for only one client, you could hardcode the horizontal links into the skin. Alternitavely, you could use a text/html module to display the horozontal links and package same when you create the child portal  template.

Both methods will preserve the parent portals horizontal "menu"/links when creating new child portals. Vertical menus would be the standard solpart menus for each portal.
